Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. Improving outcomes for all our pupils underpins all of the work within Beckfoot Trust Schools. With this in mind, our school staff create safe environments within which every child can achieve. We ensure that all children who attend or visit our schools can express any concerns, feel listened to and appropriate action taken. In partnership with other agencies, we seek to establish effective working relationships with parents, carers and other colleagues. We also provide a safeguarding curriculum in our schools that will help equip our children with the life skills they need to have safe and fulfilling lives.
Safeguarding Policy
Our child protection and safeguarding policy ensures these values are recognised and adhered to.
Support for families
This website is fantastic for any family living in Bradford. Here you can find information and advice on a wide range of topics, find out what’s on in the Bradford District.
There is support for money, safety, education, special educational needs and more.

Operation Encompass
Our school is part of Operation Encompass, which is a national scheme that operates jointly between schools and police forces.
Operation Encompass is the reporting to schools, prior to the start of the next school day, when a child or young person has experienced domestic abuse.
As a school, we have ensured that a member of our staff, (Designated Safeguarding Lead) known as a Key Adult, has been trained in the Operation Encompass procedure, allowing us to then use the information that has been shared, in confidence, to support the children in our care.
The Domestic Abuse Act 2021, identifies children who experience domestic abuse as victims of domestic abuse in their own right. If school receives a notification from Operation Encompass, a safeguarding lead may contact you to check in and offer any further support.

The Prevent Duty
Schools are duty bound to safeguard students from radicalisation and being drawn into extremism. If school suspects this is happening, they will make a referral to the local Prevent Team to gain support for the student.
What to do if you think a child is being radicalised
If you think a child or the people around them are involved in radicalisation and there is an immediate risk of harm, call 999 straight away. If the risk isn’t immediate, please speak to your schools safeguarding lead.
